Fashion Studies Intermediate 20A
3 Credits
Prerequisite: Sewing Fundamentals - FAS1030
Is sewing your passion?  Then Fashion 20A is for you!  Fashion 20A builds on prior fashion and sewing knowledge with a focus on Production.  Students will produce more challenging projects of their choice, work with a specialty fabric and learn about enhancing their sewing through embellishment techniques.  This could include working with an Industrial Embroidery machine.  Projects will be shown off in a “Project Runway” type of Fashion show. 

Fashion Studies 20B
3 Credits
Prerequisite: None
Do you have a passion for Fashion Illustration and Design? Then Fashion 20B is for you.  Fashion 20B focuses on discovering the world of Fashion Illustration, the Evolution of
Fashion through the ages and the merchandising of fashion.  Students learn about the policies and techniques that retailers use to sell fashion to a target market and identify related careers.

 Fashion Studies 30A

                Specialty Fabrics 1                               FAS2090
Fashion 30A focuses on Sewing and Production.  It involves advanced tailoring techniques to produce a tailored garment and working with a specialty fabric to design a “one of a kind” couture item suitable for graduation or other formal event.  These will be shown off in a “Project Runway” type of Fashion show and further integration with the Cosmetology Department at M.E. LaZerte. 

Fashion Studies 30B
3 Credits
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration                      FAS2020
Do you dream of being a Fashion Illustrator and Designer?  Then Fashion 30B is for you!  Fashion 30B focuses on creating a Fashion Line through Illustration and a more detailed look at Fashion Designers and Creators of Fashion.  This includes a technical or impressionistic approach to illustration and devising a logo and company name.  This is further explored through researching the retailing of Fashion merchandise and setting up a portfolio to enable students to be prepared to enter the World of Fashion and its related careers and opportunities.
