To find poetry in the MEL Library, you can search the catalogue for the subject "poetry", or search by poet. Be aware that, while we may not have a book of poems by the poet you want, we may have his/her poems in an anthology.

	While you can access the databases from home, you will need the login names and passwords to do so.

	Poetry I - Links for children's poetry, K-12 poetry site, and a site with a large collection of poems.

	Verse.Bartleby.com - A huge collection of older poetry is available (and searchable) here.
	Electronic Poetry Center - This site from the University of Buffalo has authors arranged alphabetically, with each link containing poetry, biographies and criticism.
	Internet Poetry Archive - provides biographies and poems of eight contemporary poets. Includes readings.
	Patrick Martin's Poetry Resource - links to some major poets and to poetry sites that concentrate on world poetry.
	Poetry 180 - Billy Collins, Poet Laureate of the United States has set up the Poetry 180 site. "Poetry 180 is designed to make it easy for students to hear or read a poem each day of the 180 days of the school year. "
	Poetry Daily, a new poem every day - offers a poem and information about the poet each day.
	The Academy of America Poets - a variety of resources on various poets (not all American). For multimedia presentations go the Poetry Exhibits link.
	Representative Poetry Online - includes poet index and poem index, a glossary, and some criticism.
	The Poets Read - contemporary American poets reading their works.
	Literary History.com - topics in English and American literature (not just poetry). Links lead directly to articles meeting academic standards.

	Glossary of Poetic Terms - This site from the library at the University of Toronto has many terms hyperlinked to examples.
	Glossary of Poetic Terms - Another rich site. Features include phonetic pronunciation, cross references, definitions, examples, hyper-linked keywords and cross references, poetic quotations, writers' guidelines.
	Online Dictionary of Symbolism - Discusses cultural context and possible symbolic meanings.
